Bromo Ijen Tour from Yogyakarta 3D2N

HOTEL IN YOGYAKARTA – AIRPORT IN YOGYAKARTA/TRAIN STATION IN YOGYAKARTA – ACCOMMODATION IN MOUNT BROMO

Yogyakarta to Bromo tour will start at your hotel in Yogyakarta at 7 am, the driver will pick you up then we will drive for about 8-10 hours (depending on the traffic) to our place to stay in the Mount Bromo area. We will stop at the local restaurant for our lunch stop, there are some local restaurants that you can try on the way to Mount Bromo.

If you do not like driving a car for too long, we recommend taking a flight or train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya. Flight from Yogyakarta to Surabaya takes about 1H2OM and by train about 4-5H. Upon your arrival at Surabaya train station or airport, you will be picked up by your guide and driver then we will drive from Surabaya to Mount Bromo area for about ±3 hours.

MOUNT BROMO TOUR – HOTEL IN BANYUWANGI

Mount Bromo tour will start at 3.30 AM (when you come to Mount Bromo on the weekend or holiday season, you should start the tour earlier), we will ride the jeep to the most famous sunrise point here, the jeep will take us to Penanjakan Hill but we must cross the sea of sands in this area. From Penajankan hill we will see the great sunrise with some mountains as a background. The sun will rise at 5.20 AM when the sun has raised, you will see the beautiful view of Mount Bromo, Batok, and the highest volcano in Java Island, Semeru Volcano.

After you enjoy the view from Penanjakan Hill, you have to come back to your jeep then we will, back down to the sea of sand, we will cross the sea of sand again before you reach the parking area, we will start the trek from the parking area. Mount Bromo Trekking will take about 1,5 hours to walk. There are some horses available, you can hire them with the riders. If you take a horse you only need 20 minutes to the peak of Mount Bromo.

Before the peak of Mount Bromo, there are ±250 steps that you should climb. When you have reached the top of Mount Bromo, you will be amazed at the volcanic activity that made by Mount Bromo, you will listen to the volcanic sound and smell the sulfur gasses. After enjoying the volcanic activity of Mount Bromo, you should back to your hotel for having breakfast. Around 10.00 AM, you should be ready with all your bags then we will drive to our next destination is the Hotel in Banyuwangi area, the journey will take about ±5 hours. We will stop in Pasir Putih Beach for your lunch break. Around 5.00 PM, we will reach our hotel in Banyuwangi, you will stay in Ketapang Indah hotel or similar for your enjoyable stay before you do trekking in Ijen Crater on the next morning.

IJEN CRATER TOUR –  BALI

Ijen Crater tour will start at 4.00 AM, the car will escort us to Paltuding (it’s a parking place as our starting point before we hike to Ijen Crater).  Paltuding has an altitude of around 1850m and Ijen Crater is only 2386m, we have to walk for 3 km for Paltuding to the top of Ijen Crater, it takes about ± 1, 5 hours. Upon your arrival at the top of Ijen Crater, you will be surprised by an incredible view of Ijen Crater. It’s an active volcano with the largest sulfuric lake in the world.

The lake has a green and turquoise color, it makes Ijen Crater so picturesque. Some people call Ijen Crater or Ijen Volcano as well because it’s so active and quite dangerous. Although it’s so dangerous, you will see the sulfur miners/workers go up and down to carry the block of sulfur. They work inside the crater where the sulfur mining point is. They have to walk down from the top for 800m on the rocky and slippery path. You will be amazed at them, don’t forget to give some candy and biscuits to them as appreciation after you take a photo of them.

After enjoying the view, we must go back down to Paltuding and then go back to the hotel for taking a shower before you continue your trip to Bali. Around 11.30 PM, we must leave the hotel and go to Ketapang Ferry Port, from here we can take a ferry to Bali. It takes about an hour only, upon your arrival at Gilimanuk Ferry Port (Bali Side), you will meet your driver who will take you to your hotel in Bali area (Kuta, Ubud, Denpasar, Lovina, Pemuteran, Sanur)

OPTIONAL PROGRAM (this optional tour is included in the price): If the weather is good enough and you have a fit condition for midnight trekking, you can take Ijen blue fire tour at Ijen Crater but you are required to leave from the Hotel or Homestay around 00:30 AM or Midnight.
