Bali Ijen Bromo Yogyakarta Tour 6D5N

On the first day of the tour, we will be starting from your hotel/homestay in Bali. We will drive to Gilimanuk Harbor. Gilimanuk Harbor is located on the west part of Bali Island.

Here is the estimated length of driving based on your place in Bali:

NOTE:

1. UBUD, KUTA, SANUR, JIMBARAN, DENPASAR AREA TO GILIMANUK FERRY PORT (±5 HOURS DRIVE)
2. LOVINA (±2 HOURS DRIVE)
3. PEMUTERAN (± 30 MINUTES DRIVE)

Upon your arrival in Gilimanuk harbor, you will be meeting with my guide that is ready to escort you to Ketapang Ferry port. It will take about an hour sailing. After an hour, you will be meeting our driver who is ready to escort you to Banyuwangi Town where you will be staying overnight before the trip next morning.

The trip will be starting about 2:00 am in the morning, we will drive about an hour to reach Paltuding/start point of the volcano. Upon your arrival in Paltuding, we will be trekking about 1,5 -2 hours, it depends on your pace. When you reach the crater rim of Ijen Volcano, our guide will take you to the best spot to see the sunrise and also the best view of the crater itself.

Ijen Volcano has one of the biggest sulfuric lake in Asia and the lake has turquoise color with high acidity (0,5 Ph.). So it’s beautiful and also dangerous.

After enjoying the view here about 7 am, we will go back to our car and drive back to Hotel/Homestay for having breakfast. At 10:00 am, we will be ready to escort you to go to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall area. It will take about 6-7 hours until you reach your homestay there.

OPTIONAL PROGRAM: If the weather is good enough and you have a good condition for trekking at night, you can take Ijen blue fire tour at Ijen Crater but you are required to leave the Hotel or Homestay around 1:00 AM or Midnight.

Note: there is no additional cost to take this blue fire tour but this trip depends on the Ijen Crater condition when it’s not allowed to go down by the local volcanologists, we only able to stay on the top of the crater.

On the third day of the trip, we will be starting the trip at about 7 am. It takes 10 minutes until you reach the panorama point of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. From here, you will see the greatest view of the most stunning waterfall in Indonesia. Make sure you have the best photo here.

After enjoying the view from the top, it’s time to go down into the bottom of the waterfall. It will take about 45-60 minutes, we will pass the bamboo ladder, rocky & slippery watery path and small bridge until we reach the bottom point of this waterfall.

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is surrounded by cliff area, it makes this waterfall more stunning than others. Make sure you have proper shoes and enough water & food. The whole trip here will take about 3-4 hours.

After enjoying the view here, we will be back to the homestay, to clean up and continue to our next destination, which is Mount Bromo area. It will take about 3-4 hours’ drive.

On the fourth day of the trip, we will be starting the trip at 3:00 am with a jeep. We will cruise into the sea of sand till we reach King Kong Hill where you will see the Sunrise. It takes about 40-50 minutes to drive. The road will be steep and a bit bumpy, so make sure you hold the seat while driving.

Upon your arrival at the hill, we will be having some hot coffee or teas while waiting for the sunrise. The sun will rise at about 5:30 am, so make sure before 5:30 am you have your own spot for capturing the moment.

At about 7 am, we will be back to our jeep and then continue to the sea of sand for trekking to the top of Mount Bromo. The trekking will take about 45 minutes on foot and if you feel tired, you can hire a horse for 10 USD (up and down).

At about 8:30 am, we must go back to our Hotel/Homestay to have breakfast and continue to the next destination which is Surabaya train station. It will take about 3-4 hours’ drive.

The train will leave at about 16:40, and you will be arriving in Yogyakarta at about 20:50. Upon your arrival at Yogyakarta Train Station, you will be meeting with our driver and we will escort you to your hotel in the Borobudur area, it's about 2 hours drive.

Sunrise Tour via Setumbu Hill - Borobudur Temple - Prambanan Temple - Sultan Palace and Free Leisure at your hotel in Yogyakarta

The second day of the trip will start at 4:30 a.m. from your stay in the Borobudur Temple area, and we will go to Setumbu Hill to watch the sunrise. Setumbu Hill is a viewpoint situated to the northwest of Borobudur, and it offers a stunning panoramic view of the temple, mountains, and surroundings. This hill is very famous for some photographers because you can see the top of Borobudur temple at sunrise (if the weather allows).

Once you’ve reached the viewpoint on Setumbu Hill, you can enjoy the breathtaking sunrise view of Borobudur Temple and the surrounding landscape. The misty morning atmosphere adds to the mystique of the experience. This is a fantastic spot for photography, so be sure to bring your camera or smartphone to capture the incredible scenery.

After enjoying the sunrise and taking in the beauty of the temple, you can return to Borobudur. You can explore the temple in detail, learning about its history and significance.

Borobudur Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the world, and it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. Take your time to explore its intricate stone carvings and reliefs, which depict Buddhist teachings and stories. Additionally, be respectful of the site and its spiritual significance while visiting. This tour provides a unique opportunity to appreciate the architectural and natural beauty of Borobudur and the surrounding area.

Don’t forget to immerse yourself in the local culture, interact with the people, and taste local Javanese food and snacks in the area.

Note: For now, we are only allowed to stay on the top of the Borobudur Temple for an hour, because they limit access to the top of the temple to avoid mass tourism and destruction of the temple itself.  

After the trip, we will back to our hotel, to have breakfast and take a shower before continuing our next tour, which is a city tour around Yogyakarta city. We will be visiting Prambanan Temple, Sultan Palace, Water Castle, and any other place that you want to add if you still have time.

On the last day of the trip, we will go to Jomblang Cave. It will take about 2 hours by car, and we will start the trip at 7 am. The caving tour there will be starting at about 10 am by roping down into the cave. The whole trip will take about 3-4 hours. The lunch will be served free by the Jomblang Cave office.

After enjoying the area, we will be back in the city and ready to escort you to the airport.
