Mount Ijen Bromo Budget Tour From Bali ( 3D2N )

DAY 1: EVENING DRIVE FROM BALI AREA – MOUNT IJEN AREA

The first day of the trip, we will start from Bali area at 7 pm if you are staying around Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Kuta, Seminyak, Ubud, Canggu. And if you are staying in Pemuteran area, we will start at 11 pm. We will drive to Gilimanuk Harbor which is the only harbor that will use for taking a ferry to cross Bali Strait for about an hour. Our guide will meet you in Gilimanuk harbor and ready to take the ferry.

DAY 2: TREKKING TO MOUNT IJEN AND BLUE FIRE POINT – TRANSFER TO MOUNT BROMO AREA (STAYING OVERNIGHT)

At about 00:30 am, you will be arriving at Ketapang Ferry Harbor which is located in Banyuwangi, East Java. We will be ready to drive for about an hour to reach the Paltuding area which will be the starting point before we do trekking to Mount Ijen. From the Paltuding area, you will be needing an hour and 30 minutes to reach the top of the crater, and to reach the Blue Fire point, you will be needing 30-45 minutes (it depends on how crowded the trekking path to Blue Fire point because there is only one narrow path to reach the Blue Fire point).

Upon your arrival at Blue Fire point, you will be escorted to a safe and good spot to capture this natural phenomenon. You will only have a maximum of 40 minutes here before we go back to the top of Mount Ijen for capturing the sunrise or just see the lake of Mount Ijen.

At about 5:30 am, the sun will rise behind Mount Marapi Ungup Ungup (it’s just next to Mount Ijen). When the sun rises up, you will see how beautiful Mount Ijen is with its turquoise crater lake. The best time to capture the view is until 7 am, mostly after 7 pm the view will be too smoky from the Blue Fire point.

When we have done with the view here then we can go back to the Paltuding area for having a local breakfast (it’s at your own cost) before we will head to the Mount Bromo area.

To reach the Mount Bromo area, we will drive about 5-6 hours.

DAY 3: MOUNT BROMO SUNRISE TOUR – TRANSFER TO SURABAYA/MALANG

The last day of the trip, we will start at 3 am in the morning, we will ride a local jeep to reach the sunrise point, we named it King Kong Hill. The sunrise here is at 5:30 am but we recommend to start at 3 am to escape from the traffic of the jeeps that make us will no able to park near the King Kong Hill and we must walk up to reach King Kong hill, that will be not good option.

Upon your arrival in King Kong Hill, you can enter some coffee shop there to hide from the wind and cold weather because we have about an hour till we can see a sunrise.

About 5:15 am, our guide will take you to the spot where you can see the sunrise very clearly. Beside of the sunrise, the best highlight here is the mountain formation that includes Mount Bromo, Mount Kursi, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru at the back. This mountain formation is one of the best fascinating landscapes in Indonesia.

After enjoying the view, we will go back to our jeep then driving down to the sea of sand where will park our jeep and start trekking to the peak of Mount Bromo. The trekking will take about 45 minutes on foot, there is also horse riding services that offer by the local villagers that will take you until a stair before the peak of Mount Bromo, it will cost about 150,000 IDR (USD 10) for return.

When you arrived at the peak of Mount Bromo, you will be amazed on this volcano that we named it Bromo. It has a huge hole of fire that has strong smell of sulfur and it can be erupted anytime. So, we recommend to not stay longer here.

After enjoying the top of Mount Bromo, we will be back to our accommodation for having breakfast, shower and packing up before transferring you in Surabaya or Malang area. The drive will take about 3-4 hours to reach Surabaya or Malang area ( please let us know your final destination, so we can transfer you exactly at the area).
